Album: Antidual 2

Year: 2019

The oxymoronic title of Antidual 2 is the second album of the Antidual series. It is a noise/glitch, ambient and classical album with elements of jazz: an audible juxtaposition. The sound is very meditative and melancholic in an unusual way with its glitchy electronic sound. Throughout the whole album, actual microphone recorded sounds of interior computer noises are used as instruments. These sampled instruments are from a Propellerhead digital product by Detunized. Its style is very aquarian, futuristic, novel, and avant-garde yet mixed with classical elements, and continues in the same theme as Antidual 1, whereas Antidual 1 used electronic instruments mixed with modified strings, Antidual 2 introduces the element of piano into the mix.

As with "Anti" and "Antidual 1" the meaning of the title here is not being in opposition, but being the opposite of duality, nondual, a meaning that can truly only be described through negatives, what it isn't, because as soon as a positive is used, technically it excludes what it doesn't describe. This illustrates the limitation of language, and that language is dual in itself. The symbolism of the cover is a balanced remake of the yin and yang symbol. Here there is no duality; the dots symbolizing the dual driving forces of materialization are not opposing each other, but are cooperating in unity as symbolized by the all-encompassing greyness, again adding to the nondual theme. In this sequel's cover the dots are positioned differently, suggesting that the dots are in movement. Like the yin and yang symbol, it hints at the Sun and Moon rotating above the Earth.
